World cuisine in Peekskill, Pan-Latin flavors in Hartsdale, Turkish dishes in Mount Kisco, and more make the month delicious.

Chopped finalist Chef Lawrence Ofori has opened Ofori’s World Cuisine (982 Main St, Peekskill; 914.402.1072; oforisrestaurants.com), an eclectic-menu restaurant that offers naan pizza, coconut-crusted shrimp in a piña colada sauce; dogfish shark tacos, an Impossible burger, spicy goat peanut soup, and a Ghana-style fried burrito.

Pan-Latin cuisine, including numerous specialties of the Dominican Republic, is on offer at the new Mamajuana Café Prime (215 E Hartsdale Ave, Hartsdale; 914.296.3638; mamajuanacafeprimehartsdale.com). On the menu: Serrano ham croquetas, sancochito (a traditional Dominican soup with yuca, plantain, yam, taro root, chicken, beef, and pork), pan-seared Cornish hen with fried rice; mofongo (mashed green plantains with garlic and crunchy bits of pork skin), and a 20-oz bone-in rib-eye with a side of yuca. Don’t forget a fun, tropical cocktail, such as the Island Spirit, made with bourbon cachacha, sliced jalapeño, passion fruit, lime, and garnished with red pepper flakes.

Shiraz Kitchen & Wine Bar, a Mediterranean/Persian restaurant, has moved from Elmsford to White Plains (80 Mamaroneck Ave; 914.345.6111; shirazkitchen.com) in the space that formerly housed Japanese eatery Ichiro. Feta-stuffed dates, myriad dips, stuffed grape leaves, lamb chops with saffron basmati rice; ghormeh sabzi (beef stew with kidney beans, scallion, and lime), and fesenjoon (ground walnuts, pomegranate, and meatball stew) are dishes to sample. Among the beverage offerings are 25 different wines by-the-glass plus 12 cocktails made with ingredients such as saffron, pomegranate juice, rose water, and cardamon.
