Westchester Magazine & Empire City Casino teamed up to host the first-ever Wingfest in Westchester County to a crowd of hungry guests on Saturday September 16, 2017. Over 1,800 attendees enjoyed wings from 20 local restaurants, ice cold beer from Heineken and Blue Moon, and tasty treats from The Souvlaki Truck, Penny Lick Ice Cream Company, Barbara's Kitchen Jams & Jellies and Little Jimmy's Italian Ices. Contestants battled it out in a 2-minute wing-eating contest while others partook in a football toss from Ridge Hill, live music from FDR Drive, and giveaways inside Empire City Casino's social media lounge.
Our select panel of judges had the difficult task of sampling all of the wings in order to come up with their choices for Best Traditional Buffalo Wing, Best BBQ Wing, Most Flavorful Wing and Most Creative Wing.
Congratulations to all of this year's Wingfest winners! Coals took 1st Place in the Crowd Favorite "Best Wing" category followed by The Rye Roadhouse in 2nd Place and The Blind Rhino in 3rd Place. Click here see all of the winning wings.
