“There is a wonderful sense of texture, a striking contrast against any wedding gown,” says Forever in Bloom co-owner Dean Andreades of this bouquet, a vibrant blend of deep fuchsia and magenta blooms with Darcy garden roses, Red Sox mini calla lilies, coxcomb, and phalaenopsis and Calypso orchids. The centerpiece is a lush combination of deep-pink hydrangeas; velvety coxcomb; shades of raspberry, red, and rich burgundy roses; and accents of magenta orchids along with draping amaranthus sitting atop a vintage-style mercury glass bowl.

“Country chic” is how Alice Norwick of Petals by Alice describes this centerpiece made of green-and-white Lady Slipper orchids, Patience garden roses, Dutch dahlias, ranunculus, freesia, passion vine, and green tulips. The tiny arrangement consists of two baby pomegranates, passion-vine pods, and lycopodium leaves. The bridal bouquet adds green hydrangeas, Picasso mini calla lilies, and sedum Autumn Joy with ribbons in shades of green and a touch of plum to bring out the color in the lilies.

modernSophistication

Arcadia Floral Company Designer Jennifer Spaziante was going for a modern, almost abstract art look in this elegant, yet unconventional, centerpiece grouping. “By using a monotone and intense color palette and incorporating luxurious flowers like cymbidium orchids, mini calla lilies, and roses, the arrangement feels glamorous and dramatic,” she says. “Adding fabric to the glass in a clean line formation gives an urban feel to it with a sense of fashion to the mix.” The coordinating bouquet is made of Catalayn orchids, fuchsia phalaenopsis, Casablanca lilies, and lavender hydrangeas, tied and braided with pewter satin ribbon.

victorian Splendor

Ned Kelly of Ned Kelly & Company had an intimate tableside serving in mind when he designed this wreath of flowers surrounding a Victorian glass dome topping a small wedding cake. “There could be just one arrangement for a small wedding or one at each table, offering a personal cake moment when the bride and groom visit their guests,” he says. Centerpiece flowers include cymbidium orchids, hydrangeas, delphiniums, hyacinths, lisianthus, and a variety of  roses. The bouquet builds on those flowers, adding apple-green dendrobium orchids and lily of the valley, the traditional wedding flower, in a Victorian silver holder. The antique etched-crystal stemware, crystal flower stand, Limoge cake plates, and late 19th-century Mermod, Jaccard & Co. sterling silver are all available through Kelly’s shop. The cake is by Chantilly Bakery in Bronxville.
