Ron Blacks, a pub from the same owners as Brazen Fox next door and Rory Dolan’s in Yonkers, has a double copper draft-beer tower with 40 international/homegrown selections. Appetizers like Buffalo wings, a Mediterranean dip medley, and pulled pork or beef sliders are followed by entrées such as a New York strip steak with sautéed onions and mashed potatoes ($22), almond-sesame-crusted chicken ($16), and a pan-seared salmon filet with snow peas and scallion-cilantro rice pilaf ($17).
You want to head out to the bar scene on Mamaroneck Avenue, but you’re not up for a wild night filled with college co-eds. Thankfully, now there is Ron Blacks. With numerous clocks mounted on the reclaimed chestnut wood walls and a double copper draught beer tower, the bar feels just a touch classier than some of its neighbors. Opened in December 2009 by the owners of Brazen Fox, it offers 40 draught beers, including local favorite Captain Lawrence.
