Chef Rui Correia, known for his Portuguese fare at the now-shuttered Oporto in Hartsdale, is the proprietor of this new restaurant serving Portuguese dishes. Among them: charcoal flame-grilled meats with piri-piri (a fiery red-pepper sauce). Also on the menu: grilled salmon with zucchini, chickpeas, and feta; and pan-seared butterflied steak topped with a fried egg and garlic sauce. Dine outside on the cozy patio hidden in back. Open every day for lunch and dinner.
Best Portuguese (2012)
Imagine a Portuguese take on a chicken-and-ribs joint—but one by Chef Rui Correia, the man behind Greenwich, Connecticut’s wildly popular Douro Restaurant Bar. Piri-Q’s name is a blend of Portugal’s spicy piri-piri sauce and good old American barbecue, which sounds just about perfect on a warm summer night.
