“This master bathroom was part of a large, two-story renovation,” says Claire Paquin. “The original en suite bathroom was cramped and had room only for a small shower. Since the first floor was being renovated, we were able to gain space by bumping out the bathroom on top of the addition below, allowing for both a steam shower and jetted soaking tub.” Paquin used varying scales of the same Milas White marble throughout the space and a pale wall color to create a calming atmosphere. “Pops of green in the art and accessories give some oomph to this monochromatic room,” the designer notes. The vanity is custom by Handcraft Cabinetry, Inc., the tub is by Hydro Systems, the tub filler is by Waterdecor via Klaff’s, the shower enclosure is custom by Eastchester Glass, and the tub, sink, faucets, hardware, and tub tray are all from Klaff’s. The artwork is by Belos.

This master-bathroom renovation was part of a major overhaul of a 1960s split-level home. “The owner wanted a spa-like atmosphere that would feel warm, modern, and clean,” says Abend. “The 12-inch by 24-inch statuary marble tiles extend up one wall from the floor and wrap their way into the shower, allowing the owner to be hugged by the luxurious stone.” A white nanoglass waterfall vanity and custom cabinetry add to the relaxing spa-like feel.

This master bathroom, dressed in creamy neutrals, melds the warmth of wood, wallpaper, gorgeous moldings, and custom millwork with high-end modern touches, such as hardware and plumbing fixtures from Best Plumbing Tile & Stone and Crema Marfil marble from Terra Tile & Marble. “The client was looking for a relaxed atmosphere,” says Leslie E. Gustafson, “but everyone was reading that as ‘spa.’” In keeping with that spa-like atmosphere, the room is bathed in warm, relaxing light, courtesy of recessed and pendant lighting from Hi-Light.
