Generations of the Palombo family have been churning out classic Italian desserts such as cannolis, mini-pastries, biscotti, gelato, rum cakes, and pignoli cookies since 1897; the family’s first bakery was located in Esperia, a small town fifty miles south of Rome. While a Palombo is no longer working the ovens at Esperia, Paul Palombo owns five bakeries in the Bronx in addition to Westchester’s first branch in Larchmont. Prices range from $1.25 to $3.75 for individual sweets and $10 to $18 for by-the-pound items.
