Self-taught chef Nisa Lee of Pelham Manor has run the catering business she founded in 2003 based on word-of-mouth only. She prides herself on the fact that in the 600-plus events she’s done, no two have been exactly the same. Though she travels in celebrity circles (she’s done events for Vanessa Williams, Hillary Clinton, and Halle Berry), she is down to earth and friendly. Her eclectic cuisine captures flavors from locales like Thailand (where she was born), the South Pacific, Fiji, the Caribbean, and Spain. Lee offers intimate meals for 10 to corporate events for up to 1,000, and can provide the rentals, flowers, entertainment, and decorations. Expect to pay about $65 per plate.
