Don’t expect display cases and a service counter when you walk into Flourish Baking Company; instead a commercial kitchen with racks of freshly baked artisan breads made of organic whole-grains and grain flours, fruit and chocolate confections made with agave instead of refined sugar, and savory pies full of vegetables, legumes and grains. Co-owner Diane Forley, along with husband Michael Otsuka, previously ran Manhattan’s Verbena for nine years.
The walk-in kitchen is open for retail purchases Tuesday to Friday; otherwise order online or go to Auray Gourmet or Eastchester Fish Gourmet Shop
