Caffelatte is an Italian-inspired coffee shop, with posters of the Roman Coliseum and Venetian canals to decorate the pale pink, faux-marble walls. Music from Verdi and Puccini is commonly played on the stereo. Owner Basilio Colaizzi, a native of Abruzzo, draws in his paisani (there is a large Italian-American population in Dobbs Ferry), joined by students from the local Masters School, as well as a contingent of regulars who come as much for his company as for the coffee and Italian delicacies. A typical drink is the Segafredo espresso ($1.75), which is made from flavorful beans imported from Bologna. Panini are offered including the panini deliciosi ($7) with shaved prosciutto di Parma, fresh mozzarella, romaine, radicchio, and tomatoes.
