Blue Pig is a small-batch ice creamery with product made daily onsite. Only high-quality ingredients such as Massey’s bourbon Indonesian vanilla extract, natural maple syrup, and cream with 16 percent butterfat are used. Toppings are hand-added, and ice-cream sandwiches are made with cookies and brownies from the Provisions Bakery in Pelham. One scoop of ice cream (known as a “runt”) costs $3, two scoops (a “piglet”) is $4.50, three scoops (a “piggy”) is $5.25, and four scoops (a “hog”) is $6. Popular flavors include dam dark chocolate, coconut Butterfinger, maple walnut, and Bing cherry. The parlor is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 to 9 pm; Friday and Saturday from 11 to 10 pm, and Sunday 12 to 8 pm.
