Best New Antique Furnishings Shop (2011)
Running low on homegrown family heirlooms? Adopt some from this shop. Like a Madison Avenue antiques shop-on-steroids without the snooty attitude and gasp-inducing price tags, this huge home goods thrift shop, founded by laid off Wall Streeter Pam Stone of Bedford, is chock full of antique furnishings (brass sconces, Limoge china, maple dining tables) from posh nearby estates, plus newer items (brass-and-glass coffee tables, Ralph Lauren club chairs) from the McMansions of the downsized. You never know what you’ll find, but it can be yours for way less than its previous owners shelled out. Best of all? All proceeds benefit (hence, its name) local charities. P.S.: Ready to recycle some of your own treasures? Free pickups, including boxes, packing material, manpower, and tax-deductible receipts, are provided.
