Anybody who has kids—especially those brooding, angst-ridden, of-a-certain-age types—knows that any activity that even remotely resembles “instruction,” “learning,” or “education” will be met with resistance, if not outright rebellion. Thank goodness for Rosehill Music—a school which offers private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, woodwinds, drums, and more—where instructors here are trained professionals but, more important (in kids’ eyes, at least), they’re cool. Cool enough to distract your kids from the fact that they’re even in a school. So what if the guitar teacher idolizes Slash? Chances are, he adores Mozart, too—but why tell your kid and ruin a good thing? Instead, let him enjoy his private lesson in a modern studio with a classically trained musician (good for you) who just happens to dress like Devendra Banhart (good for him).
