So why go here? Because when the Greenburgh Multiplex was built right down the block, it siphoned away all the big movies from Hawthorne, and with them went the big crowds, teenagers on their cellphones, and families that sell out shows hours before the screening time. At Hawthorne, you're left with lots of available parking, a selection of films that are a bit hipper and more under-the-radar, and the feeling that you have the place all to yourself.
