Founded in 1964 by fashion designer and art collector Larry Aldrich, the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum underwent a major renovation and expansion and reopened in 2004 with 25,000 square feet of exhibition space. Twelve state-of-the-art galleries include a screening room, sound gallery, 22-foot-high project space, 100-seat performance area, and education center. The Cornish Family Sculpture Garden, a two-acre outdoor exhibition space, is also a museum highlight.
