Pelham, Landscaping by Scenic Landscaping
SDR Design created this magnificent home and brought on Scenic Landscaping to help with a seamless outdoor area to complement it.
The overall scope was to create a new outdoor space in an existing lot that a family of six could use all year long. It included large retaining walls, reworking an existing sports court to find more open space, designating new garden areas, and designing ample areas for entertaining.
The entertaining spaces include an outdoor kitchen, covered fireplace, spacious dining area, and spa patio, so everyone has something to enjoy.
The kitchen has a pizza oven, cocktail station, plenty of counter space, stainless-steel sink, dishwasher, beer fridge, and ample seating. Stainless-steel Lynx appliances were used for the barbecue and refrigerator. LED lights underneath countertops illuminate the kitchen in the evening, and there is a TV that can be seen from the bar.
Around the bar, there is seating for eight. A large outdoor table nearby seats up to 10. The fireplace area has couches and built-in stone benches. The fireplace hearth also provides seating with its custom benches. The lower spa area has seating around the Jacuzzi.
In total there are three televisions, one fireplace, and five living spaces — kitchen, dining room, fireplace area, spa, and garden rooms.
Best Tips: Create a space that looks as though it belongs on the property instead of something that looks brand new. Plan ahead for outdoor audio speakers, and always consider your budget.
Biggest Mistake: Not taking time to plan properly and not being proactive. It is important to find specialists who will keep your best interests in mind, hire the right team, and trust them as professionals.
