There is no doubt that Louise Fischer has a good eye. Through a successful career in the advertising industry, working with international lifestyle brands, she honed her sensibility of what consumers want and the brand messaging companies need to speak to them successfully. Now, focusing on her love of design, she curates a collection of Danish home furnishings and accessories for Kontrast, her recently launched online boutique. Fischer, who is Danish, brings together a wonderful selection of décor (pillows, ceramics, vases, tabletop, and more) that captures the signature simple lines and materials of Danish design. I stopped by Fischer’s Larchmont home to meet her and see the collection.

There is much more to see and explore on the site, which is beautifully designed and easy to navigate. Fischer plans to expand the collection, but in the meantime, she has an impressive foundation of products that speak to the beauty and simplicity of Danish style while being accessible for everyday life right here.

Looking for a bridal gift? The Love Song vases are both romantic and contemporary. Each one is embossed with lyrics from an iconic song (“Love Me Tender,” for example). In untreated stoneware with a glazed interior, the vases would look at home on both a rustic table or a sleek glass desk.

Animal lovers or those who need a whimsical gift for a newborn or toddler will want to check out the baby animal pillows. The cushions have an up-close photo of a duckling, hare, polar bear, hedgehog, or other creature. They are just adorable and would make the perfect present, as well as give a more sophisticated look to a baby’s room.

The Kubus bowl is a Bauhaus-inspired piece that would be a perfect table or buffet centerpiece with flowers or candles; a great serving piece for summer entertaining with chips and guacamole; or, for growing kitchen herbs, a stylish container. The Kubus bowl comes in several finishes, but the white and copper caught my eye.

If you’re looking for a modern, bold statement for your family room, go for the Icelandic horses decorative pillow. The extra-large cushion (31.5 inches square) has a digital photo of wild horses printed in black and white. It would be great on a large sofa or sectional, or as a floor pillow when watching TV or cuddled up reading
