Bungalow Blue in Larchmont Offers Repurposed Home Decor Items and Jewelry

At Bungalow Blue in Larchmont, everything old is new again

Everything in this store is enjoying a second life,” says owner Donna “Dusty” McCullough, a trained graphic designer and visual arts teacher. Old doors repurposed as tables are topped with clocks made from discarded record albums ($29.99) and screen doors are used to display handmade pendant necklaces. A cheerful chorus of wind chimes fashioned from recycled metals, bottles, glass, and jewelry hangs from a hammock suspended in the center of the shop. Our favorites? The vintage ones made with old, often jeweled, silverware ($46 to $110). Indeed, there’s so much to take in, shoppers are invited to kick back and relax in a couple of old theater seats. In the future, McCullough plans to hold local artist shows in the shop’s backyard space and workshops and parties offering jewelry- and sachet-making.
