Autumn in New York
This look is perfect for the traditionalist. Incorporate a leaf wreath, wheat, in-season fruit, gourds, and twigs to create the perfect fall look.
Take two bunches of wheat and secure them near the base with a brown grosgrain ribbon. Place the wheat on top of vintage books and surround with apples and gourds.
For the center, use a rustic framed mirror and red-leaf wreath. Complete the center with the word “fall” spelled out on pears with a white-paint pen. Sprinkle more gourds and twigs throughout.
Rustic and Regal
This is more of a rustic and natural look.
Fill a vintage gold frame with burlap and top with a cotton wreath. Place it slightly off-center, to give height opposite the candlesticks on the other side.
Lay two birch logs flat on the mantel. Layer dried leaves, thick burlap ribbon, pine cones, twinkle lights, twigs, and lychees for depth and warmth.
If you’re looking for something a bit more glamorous, this style is for you.
Use a plain oval mirror as the backdrop. Place it slightly off-center, to give the overall look more interest.
Layer in tall silver candlesticks, compote dishes, decorative spheres, votives, and vases, along with miniature white pumpkins and candles, to complete the glamorous look.
Mercury glass, mirror, and candlesticks give this look a warm glow. It is less traditional than the first two, but white pumpkins lend a classic touch.
This look is simple and elegant and easy to put together.
Fill one white pitcher with monochromatic feathers for a punch of color.
Layer all of your simple white tableware and serving dishes to create a fresh, clean backdrop.
Use a small rustic chalkboard to write “gather” as a focal point and as a contrast to all of the white.
Sprinkle in green magnolia leaves as well as moss balls, which you can purchase at a craft store.
