Head over to Sun Valley Nursery (136 Croton Ave, Ossining, 914-762-6161) for the best selection of hand-painted Italian ceramics—Deruta, Faenza, Gubbio, Orvieto, and more—in the region. Owner Vincenzo Bomba had to wait two years to be able to carry the Leona line, with its particularly lovely autumnal designs. Choose from platters—petite to enormous—pitchers, urns, serving pieces, roosters, chickens, and ducks, even lava stone tables. Most everything is the real deal, but don’t overlook the really nice Murano knock-off vases at great prices ($90 to $135).
