In the past decade, Fishkill Farms has grown from a conventionally farmed apple orchard into a diversified, ecological farm. The farm is comprised of 60 acres of just apples (growing over 50 varieties), along with dozens of acres of other pick-your-own fruits and vegetables. Fishkill Farms also has a flock of 1000 pasture-raised hens. Many of the berries and vegetables grown on the farm are organically grown, without the use of sprays and pesticides. 5 acres of the apple crop are also grown organically, and Fishkill Farms plans to expand organic farming methods to more of their crops.
