Westchester Golfers Sweep World Invitational Father & Son Tournament

The Lee family celebrates simultaneous victories.

Biff and Edward O’Reilly won the 29th annual World Invitational Father & Son Tournament held last month on Waterville Golf Links in County Kerry, Ireland. The duo beat 98 teams from nine countries in the four-round event staged by Carr Golf.

The O’Reillys finished with a 125-point total in the championship division, which was played using the Stableford scoring system. Biff plays out of Winged Foot GC while Edward belongs to Westchester Country Club. They bested a second-place team from Scotland by ten points.

“Once again, our father and son tournament was an incredible success filled with competition and camaraderie,” says Marty Carr, tournament host. “It’s amazing to see the friendships that have formed and flourished over the past 29 years as a result of this joyous event.”

The Gross Division was won by Steven Lee and Steven Lee, Jr., who also belong to both Winged Foot and Westchester CC. The Lees finished with a total of 104 points.  The elder Lee previously won the gross division of the Father & Daughter Tournament with his daughter Kaitlyn in 2016.

The Lee family had an additional reason to celebrate as Kaitlyn won the Westchester CC Ladies’ Championship that weekend. The 17-year-old Scarsdale junior is believed to be the youngest ladies’ champ in the club’s history.
