Simulator golf has always been fun, but it’s been taken to a whole new level at Zstrict, the all-new, all-fabulous GOLFZON facility in Stamford at Chelsea Piers Connecticut. The 11,000-sq. ft. golf palace provides much, much more than a place to hit balls into a video screen.
Zstrict has ten bays using GOLFZON’s industry-leading simulator technology that produces unmatched realism, detailed swing data, and a social media connection that allows easy competition in a variety of formats on over 80 real-life golf courses. The golf experience is extraordinarily complete, with swing plate variable ground settings and multi-surface hitting mats so you’re making your swings on uneven lies and from (unfortunately realistic) simulated long rough or even sand. The visuals are so spooky-realistic that if your ball clips a tree limb, leaves will fall.
Need some range time? For golfers intent on improvement (and who isn’t?), Zstrict’s software provides a wealth of real-time information far beyond the usual numbers on carry, roll, and shot dispersion. The technology reports 11 different metrics including club head speed and face angle for every swing. A real mind-blower is the video of your swing that’s automatically captured and made available on your phone from the free Zstrict app. The system stores up to 50 videos you can reference, send to your teaching pro, or share on social media.
Daily and monthly competitions—with prizes—is another highly unique feature of the Zstrict experience. In-store contests allow players to simultaneously participate against each other in a variety of formats for cash and point prizes. To date, GOLFZON hosts an average of 350 simulator tournaments per day. The social fun of Zstrict golf isn’t just online, either. Each bay has lounge seating for your friends and there’s a convivial bar, food service, and even private VIP spaces available. Membership isn’t required and hourly rates are quite reasonable.
The Stamford installation is Zstrict’s first in the US, but the creator, GOLFZON, provides 57 million rounds to 1.5 million registered users on 28,000 simulators in 5,900 lounges worldwide. That kind of success is a good indicator of the quality of the Zstrict experience.
