Madison Kitchen's Chef to Compete on Chopped

Competing on Food Network’s Chopped is not for the faint of heart—but neither is opening a restaurant in Westchester County.

Chef Nick Di Bona, however, has conquered both in the span of less than a month. The multi-tasking chef officially opened his restaurant, Madison Kitchen in Larchmont, on Sept. 25, and competed in an episode of “Chopped” just prior to the launch.

Featuring Di Bona’s own take on New American cuisine, Madison Kitchen is the chef’s first solo venture—at age 28. At Madison Kitchen, the unique and original dishes are created using a number of fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant aims to be a place where patrons can sit back and relax over a good meal with great friends.

Born and raised in Yorktown Heights, Di Bona has successfully climbed the culinary ladder, starting as a busboy to commanding the kitchen as Yorktown’s Peter Pratt’s’ executive chef. Di Bona furthered his culinary educational experience by attending The Culinary Institute of America.

As for those who are eagerly waiting to see if Westchester’s own Di Bona made the cut on the infamous Food Network show, the Chopped episode will air in October.
