Melt in your Mouth

It’s a three-step ordering process at the new Melt Sandwich Shop (277 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains 914-358-1364). Choose your bread—roll ($5), flatbread ($7), or wedge ($8)—then a meat or fish smoked or roasted daily in-house, and finally a combination topping. The meat selections include aged beef top round, hickory-smoked Black Forest ham, coffee-rubbed corned beef, rosemary-mustard pork loin, and pulled barbecue turkey. Toppings include “the mango” (mango salsa, jalapeño, red onions, and cilantro), “the French onion” (sautéed onions, Gruyère, and au jus), and “the Italian” (broccoli rabe, provolone, and roasted tomatoes). A small breakfast menu, grilled pizzas, salads, and soups also are offered. Local delivery is planned for this month.
