Bargain Hunting

For the second quarter 2008, according to the Westchester County Board of Realtors, single-family home inventory was up (10.6 percent) and sales remained flat (-.3 percent). That’s bad news for sellers. But for buyers, the grim housing recession offers an enticing upside: They can get a home at a bargain price. It's definitely a buyers market. You see foreclosure, pre-foreclosure and otherwise previously unreachable priced homes at bargain prices. Homes listed in mayor realestate portals such as Trulia, Point 2, VivaReal and others are showing significant price decreases from their highs a short while back. A list from VivaReal from white plains for example (http://www.vivareal.us/comprar/new-york/white-plains/casas/) shows that homes are priced at least 20 to 30 percent lower than they were a few years back. In some cases price drops have been much higher in percentage terms.
