Thanksgiving Cocktail Recipes from Westchester Restaurants

Offer your Turkey Day guests one of these seasonally sensational cranberry-centric cocktails, concocted by our best local mixologists.



Cranberry Collins

(Makes one cocktail)

2 oz Bulleit Bourbon
¾ oz cranberry jam, infused with rosemary and tarragon
dash of orange bitters
ginger ale
tarragon and cranberries to garnish

Shake first three ingredients together. Pour, on the rocks, into a highball glass. Splash the top with ginger ale. Garnish with tarragon and three fresh cranberries.

 

Mulled Cranberry Gin Martini

(Makes four cocktails)

FOR CRANBERRY BASE:
⅛ cup fresh cranberries
⅛ tsp orange zest
pinch of cinnamon
¼ cup orange juice
¼ cup apple cider
¼ cup water
    
Bring all ingredients to a boil. Let simmer for 15 minutes and then purée to smooth consistency.

FOR MARSHMALLOW TOPPING
4 marshmallows
1 cup heavy cream

Roast marshmallows and liquefy them with heavy cream. Chill, and then whip mixture until peaks form.

TO SERVE:
2 Tbsp sage, chopped fine
2 Tbsp pine nuts, crushed
4 tsp sugar
4 cups cranberry juice
10 oz gin (or vodka)

Combine sage, pine nuts, and sugar, and rim four martini glasses. Shake cranberry juice and vodka with 8 tbsp of cranberry base and ice and pour into glasses. Finish with marshmallow topping.

 

The Scarlet Kalkun 

(Makes one cocktail)

6-8 fresh cranberries
1½ oz Wild Turkey 81
splash simple syrup
3 pinches cinnamon
2 dashes orange bitters

Muddle cranberries in a shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients, plus ice, and shake. Strain over ice in rocks glass.

 

Tuthilltown Cranberry Old-Fashioned

(Makes one cocktail)

8 fresh cranberries, plus some for garnish
2 tsp sugar
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
1 strip (2 inches) orange zest
2 oz Tuthilltown Spirits’ Hudson Baby Bourbon Whiskey, plus a splash to dissolve the sugar
 
Muddle cranberries, sugar, bitters, and orange zest with a splash of bourbon in a medium glass until sugar dissolves. Pour in the rest of the bourbon. Add ice cubes and shake lightly. Garnish with fresh cranberries and an orange slice.
