Intro to Golf 101

A total of 2,240 holes of golf were played between 8 am and 7:30 pm at Westchester Golf Association’s Caddie Scholarship Fund inaugural golf marathon. The event was held at Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor. Participants, which included caddie masters, golf professionals, club members, and caddie scholarship recipients, helped raise more than $95,000. The money will be used to fund college scholarships for golf lovers—caddies, pro shop workers, grounds crewmembers, and others who work at any of the member clubs of the Westchester Golf Association. “The dedication of our marathon participants was amazing,” says Ellyn Plato, director of development at WGA Caddie Scholarship Fund. “They averaged eighty-six holes.” Approximately 270 students this fall semester are attending college with the support of a caddie scholarship.
