Thornwood

Being a census-designated-place (CDP) within the Town of Mount Pleasant, Thornwood has been a bit of an enigma for residents to the south and north of it. But situated in the heart of Westchester it is worth to be recognized for its wide assortment of housing options (featuring slightly larger lots than in bordering Pleasantville), its good schools, its two shopping centers (with two of the largest supermarkets in central Westchester), and its array of pubs and restaurants.

Neighboring Hawthorne provides the residents of Thornwood with easy access to the rest of the county via the Saw Mill and Sprain Brook Parkways and Manhattan is also easily accessible via Metro North from both Hawthorne and Pleasantville train stations.
