How Westchester’s bastions of higher education are helping graduates celebrate this (and past) year’s accomplishments safely.

Colleges across the nation have had to make the tough decision on whether or not to hold in-person commencement ceremonies during the pandemic. In Westchester, some colleges have opted to have virtual events, small celebrations, or in-person ceremonies that allow limited guests. Here’s what Westchester’s colleges have planned for their 2021 graduates:

Berkeley College

Berkeley College will hold an online commencement ceremony on May 7 for 2020 and 2021 graduates and an outdoor commencement ceremony at MetLife Stadium on May 27 for 2019, 2020, and 2021 graduates.

The College of Westchester

The College of Westchester has not responded to inquiries at this time. We will update this guide when information becomes available.

Concordia College

Concordia College will close at the end of this school year, but the final class will graduate in a Parade of Graduates on May 8 at Sommer Center. Graduates can bring up to four guests, but no one will sit or assemble in the Sommer Center. Graduates and their guests will come in at their assigned time, have their name called, and will walk across the stage to receive their diploma and have pictures taken.
