Zagat’s 2009 survey is out, and Peter Kelly KOs the competition with a one-two punch: his X20 Xaviars-on-the-Hudson in Yonkers was rated the area’s Most Popular restaurant, while his Xaviars at Piermont across the river received the top scores in food (29 out of 30) and service (28 out of 30) in the Westchester/Hudson Valley region. Tarrytown’s Equus, meanwhile, was voted tops in décor.
Zagat also reports on the impact of the nation’s economic woes on the county’s dining trends, with diners eating out less, eating greener, and restaurateurs offering unprecedented deals to entice residents to leave their microwave dinners in the freezer and return to their tables.
