Chef Sterling Smith of the recently closed Sterling Café is today chef du cuisine at the new Rafael Palomino-Moe Gad venture, Greenwich Tavern, formerly Palomino Restaurant (1392 E Putnam Ave, Old Greenwich, CT 203-698-9033). Greenwich Tavern’s menu includes numerous small plates options as well as main dishes such as veal meatloaf and Maine lobster macaroni and cheese. //

Italian eatery Johnny’s on 5th (600 Fifth Ave, Pelham 914-355-2783) is now open with Arturo Shahini, previously at Delgado’s in Yonkers, as chef. On the menu: lobster ravioli, sun-dried tomato-crusted salmon, and 16-ounce New York strip steak with Gorgonzola cheese. Most entrées range between $20 and $28. Open for lunch and dinner every day. //

Joseph Romano, the former chef at Armonk’s Gavi, is today chef at and partner of the new regional Italian Sale & Pepe (336 Pelham Rd, New Rochelle 914-235-0360). On the menu: fusilli with shrimp and wild mushrooms, sautéed veal with peas and artichoke hearts, and double-cut lamb chops. Most entrées cost between $15 and $18. Lunch is served Tues to Fri and dinner Tues to Sun. //

Both the room and menu at Blue (99 Church St, White Plains 914-220-0000) have had a makeover. New dishes include organic pistachio-crusted salmon, soy rice-wine vinegar-marinated sirloin with Cajun-grilled shrimp, and bluefin tuna three ways. Entrées range in price from $25 to $30. //

Expected to open sometime this month is Three Boys From Italy Brick Oven Trattoria (206 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains). The regional Italian restaurant will serve gourmet pizzas and main dishes ($15 to $25) such as risotto Mediterraneo, Gorgonzola-crusted filet mignon, and sautéed chicken breast with fresh tomatoes. A 40-seat sidewalk patio will is also planned. Lunch and dinner is served every day, with late-night dining until 3 am Thurs to Sat.
