Tagine Restaurant & Wine Bar (120 Grand St, Croton-on-Hudson 914-827-9393), a French bistro with a smattering of Moroccan dishes, is the latest venture by Craig Purdy and Jonathan Pratt; the duo also own Peter Pratt’s Inn in Yorktown and ümami café in Croton-on-Hudson. On the menu: coquille St. Jacques (scallops in white wine sauce with mushrooms and Gruyère); duck confit; cassoulet; and a variety of tagines (beef, vegetable, or lamb, slow roasted in a clay vessel). Tagine is open every day for dinner only // Philip McGrath, chef/owner of Iron Horse Grill and Pony Express, is planning to open by April a third Pleasantville restaurant: Seahorse (30 Wheeler Ave, no phone/web as of press time). The 600-square-foot, mostly takeout fish-fry eatery will offer simply prepared seafood including fish à la plancha, fried cod, pollack, shrimp, and scallops (in either a wheat-based batter or a gluten-free corn coating), fish sandwiches, chowders, fresh-made coleslaw, and lobster rolls. A myriad of sauces will accompany the dishes. All menu items will cost between $7 and $19 // In the space that once housed Coyote Flaco is A Place 2 Go (273 North Ave, New Rochelle 914-365-2525; aplace2gowestchester.com), a 37-seat (plus 22 at the bar) modern Caribbean and American bistro serving oxtail stew, jerk pork, steamed snapper, and grilled salmon with herb-roasted potatoes (mains range from $9 to $20). For dessert, try the coconut rum cake. A Place 2 Go is open Tues through Sun for lunch and dinner // In the place of Pascal’s in Larchmont, Rafael Palomino (Sonora, Bistro Latino) is expected to open Palomino (141 Chatsworth) sometime this spring…Also in spring: the owners of nessa are renovating the space next door for a Italian coffee shop called Zeppoleme (321 N Main St, Port Chester). On the menu: sweet and savory varieties of zeppole (deep-fried dough), plus Stumptown Coffee Roasters coffee, paninis, salads, Italian sodas, tap beer, and wine // The owners of Traditions 118 in Somers plan to open, by the start of this month, The Rose Room (222 E Main St, Mount Kisco), an American/Italian restaurant in the space that once housed F.A.B. // Executive Chef Bill Rosenberg of NoMa Social (Radisson Hotel, 1 Radisson Plz, New Rochelle 914-576-4141; nomasocial.com) has added new items to his mostly small-plates offerings, including a grilled hanger steak tapas, wild mushroom wood-fired pizza, blood-orange salad, and a short ribs main course.
