Jerry Pickney. The Ossining resident won the prestigious Caldecott Medal for his children’s book, The Lion & the Mouse.

Indian Point. Its sirens worked this time during its latest test.

LOSERS

Con-Ed. The power giant pulled an Edward Scissorhands with its recent “tree-trimming” job in Pleasantville, angering residents.

Andreas Joyce-Gilbert and Justin A. Barone. The White Plains residents were apprehended and arrested by police for alleged burglary after attempting to make their getaway on a county bus.

White Plains residents. Preliminary estimates peg the city’s impending tax increase at 23.5 percent.
