The Crystal Spoon Corp, a corporate caterer in Elmsford, has launched Top Chef Meals (914-372-7080), which delivers meals directly to homes. “The catalyst for this service was my homebound eighty-year-old father,” says Crystal Spoon Corp President Paul Ghiron. “He wanted an affordable alternative to high-sodium supermarket frozen foods and pricey restaurant takeout.” A meal, which includes an entrée and two sides, costs less than $5.50. Among the entrées (all preservative-free and with low or no sodium): grilled boneless breast of chicken with sautéed portobello mushrooms, white wine, and fresh herbs; meatballs in a marinara sauce topped with shaved Parmesan; house-roasted turkey breast in gravy; and baked tilapia with seafood stuffing. Designed to heat and eat, all Top Chef Meals are packed in oven- and microwave-safe biodegradable trays. A tally of calories and sodium is automatically displayed upon order selection. The service is available anywhere in Westchester County ($15 delivery charge unless orders are over $150) and there is a seven-meal minimum on all orders.
