Nothing flaunts Yonkers revitalization quite like the outdoor dining at Dolphin, which lets tables spill out onto the sidewalk for views of the Hudson River and the Yonkers pier as well as lots of decent people-watching.

There are plenty of little sidewalk-seating enclaves in Larchmont, but we’re particularly fond of grabbing a steak and an ice-cold martini at this shady grouping of tables anchored by flowing potted plants.

White Plains

On weeknights, this outpost of the Manhattan mini-chain fills up quickly with after-work crowds grabbing drinks and an early dinner. Dining is even better on weekends, when the vibe under the sunny-yellow awnings is mellower, but the people-watching is just as good.

Considering it’s named for beachy Montauk, it’s no surprise that Tauk does outdoor dining well. Couches, fire lamps, and tables, set up on pedestrian Armonk Square, bring the summer vibes, as do the warm lobster rolls and Montauk Brewing Company beers on tap.

Village Social

Mount Kisco

Anytime the weather warms, a sea of open umbrellas signals that Village Social’s popular, East Main Street patio is open for business, serving crisp cocktails and shareable plates of pretzel-crusted tuna and mango salad.
