“Casually all business,” is how Pleasantville’s Jesse Teitel describes his new heritage-style menswear line, Hudson & Finn (www.hudsonandfinn.com). Named after the Hudson Valley and Teitel’s firstborn son, it offers classic and casual style for the working man, available exclusively on its e-commerce site.
“The idea initially came to me when I made a career move and transitioned from wearing a suit and tie daily to work to having essentially no dress code at all,” Teitel says. “I had to incorporate a bunch of new staples into my rotation. I knew there was a need in the market to simplify the process and provide a solution to a dedicated demographic.”
Teitel, who has always been interested in creating a clothing line, started Hudson & Finn last November, in Pleasantville. His goal? To simplify the process of shopping for menswear.
While the brand sells individual shirts and pants, it also offers its H&F Outfit Collections, preselected outfit options consisting of three to four favorite staples. And the modern, athletic fit of the line serves to make the business-casual look more comfortable.
“Our goal is to provide customers with a convenient and fast way to buy clothes and to reward them with a discount [through the collection program]. For example, our Weekender Outfit Collection features two shirts and one pair of pants — perfect for a weekend away with the boys or your significant other,” Teitel explains.
“‘Life is about the &s’ is our motto,” he adds, explaining that the quote “represents how our lives are packed, yet we find a way to balance the chaos. It’s about enabling yourself to dive into one task, headfirst, while balancing it out with relaxation. Our clothing fits all of those moments, and it’s one less thing to worry about.” Manufactured in New York City, the high-quality pieces are affordable, at less than $100 apiece.
