A First Annual Holistic Expo Kicks off in Ossining This June

The event includes a variety of wellness presenters, yoga, and other activities centered around quality-of-life practices.

Among the guests at this year’s Free Spirit Expo is guitarist Victor Tarassov, whose classic Spanish flamenco stylings provide the perfect chill-lounge vibe for an event that’s all about the quality of life. Also on hand will be keynote speakers, restorative yoga classes, and even a body-art healing event.

Ever wonder what it would be like to be free of life’s stresses? Well, Dr. Michele Bell’s first-ever Free Spirit Holistic Expo might be just what the shaman ordered.

Bell’s inaugural outing kicks off at Ossining’s Fable: From Farm to Table on June 2, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event includes a variety of wellness presenters, yoga, and other activities centered around quality-of-life practices.

“We’re having many keynote speakers and presenters at this event,” Bell says. “People from [holistic medicine practitioner] Dr. Michael Wald and anamorphic catalyst Theresa Fernand to Elly Molina [MindPower Consulting] and Aleksandra Winters [Raw Food Art], and so many more.”

There will be “Farmaste” Yoga classes: embody, Kundalini, restorative, in addition to other established yoga styles. There will also be healing circles, reiki, and a body-art healing event.

“The purpose of all these events is to bring people together and allow them to remove the hardship and stress from their lives and engage in the rejuvenation of their souls,” Bell says.

Bell’s mission is to raise money to help fund “The Zen-Tuary,” a planned facility for critically ill children, an issue especially close to Bell’s heart, given that she lost her own son to cancer in 2005. As she explains: “The goal is to raise awareness of holistic approaches all across the board and raise funds to bring the Zen-Tuary from concept to reality — a place we feel would be the first of its kind. A special place, where critically ill children will be welcomed to engage, share, and escape, so they may experience the joys of childhood they so deserve.”
