Scheduled to have opened by mid-June in the space that once held The National is Little Beet Table (376 Greenwich Ave, Greenwich), a full-service veggie-centric American restaurant.
Executive Chef Matt Aita (previously of NYC’s acclaimed Rouge Tomate and Jean-Georges) and Chef Rich Perez (previously of Picholine and Roy Choi’s restaurant group) have crafted a completely gluten-free menu offering vegetable-forward plates (cauliflower-and-mushroom tacos, broccoli pizzetta), comfort-food classics, and house-made juices. This is the third LBT location (Park Avenue South in Manhattan and Gold Coast District in Chicago).
Latin American restaurant Sugar Rhum (38 E Main St, Mount Kisco; 914.864.1444) is open in the former Café of Love location. On the menu: grilled octopus, roasted sangria-glazed pork belly, Brazilian shellfish stew, braised pork shank (pernil), paella, a ceviche station, and Cuban-style coffee. Along with Hacienda La Paloma, this is the owners’ second Mount Kisco restaurant.
Serving Caribbean dishes such as roast pork, empanadas, ceviche, and mofongo (mashed fried plantains topped with jumbo shrimp, grilled chicken, or skirt steak) is the new Sunset Restaurant and Bar (49 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains; 914.607.2906). The 95-seat eatery opened in the location that once housed Pick and Roll Soul Restaurant.

The shuttered Umami space in Croton-on-Hudson has a new occupant: Maracas Mexican Grill & Bar (325 S Riverside Ave; 914.862.4424).

A bento box from OKO
Rosemary and Vine has closed; in the same space, Somers native Chef Brian Lewis plans to launch the Japanese-inspired OKO (29 Purchase St, Rye) sometime this summer. Many ingredients will come from local farms and waters, plus Tokyo’s Tsukiji Fish Market. Lewis debuted the original OKO in Westport May 2018.
Hastings-on-Hudson is elevating its food-scene with two new businesses later this summer: The Good Witch Coffee Bar (914.204.0472) in the Metro-North station, and Wild Culture Waffles (579 Warburton Ave), a gourmet waffle-and-coffee shop.
