This stylish sanctuary for all your hair needs was founded by four women with one vision.

A glass of Champagne (or mug of coffee) upon arrival and a calm, cool atmosphere. This is what to expect walking into Haven Hair Studio in Mohegan Lake (1859 East Main St).

The salon was founded by Cheryl Velletri, Lisa D’Ambrosio, Amanda Nicolis, and Deanna Irving in Cortlandt Manor in June 2018, and expanded to its new location in May. The four longtime stylists worked together in the past and banded together to create a place where clients would be comfortable and leave looking (and feeling) fabulous.

D’Ambrosio says they created Haven Hair Studio to be a “judgment-free zone.” She says, “You don’t have to walk in looking like Kim Kardashian, but I can guarantee you will feel like her when you walk out.”

Haven Hair is a “total beauty experience,” according to D’Ambrosio, and every client (whether new or veteran) receives a consultation at every visit. The four owners, who are also moms, constantly educate themselves, and, in turn, believe in the importance of educating their clients.

Clients are taught how to replicate their chosen style at home (no doubt, a hard feat). The salon caters to all kinds of clientele regardless of gender or age, and offers cut, color, blowouts, and makeup services. “We make every client feel like it’s all about them. And it is all about them. They come in for that experience,” D’Ambrosio says.

For a smooth visit, the stylists at Haven Hair discuss pricing before putting a comb to hair to alleviate clients of the uncomfortable scenario of not knowing how much they’ll be forking over for that fabulous new ’do. D’Ambrosio says, “What makes me love my job is when I see the client’s whole demeanor change while they’re in the chair. That’s my reward.”
