Old-School Diner | Mont Olympos
1 Fort Hill Rd, Yonkers
(914) 961-4677; montolymposdiner.com
Shining like a beacon high above Central Avenue, this bustling Yonkers landmark has been welcoming patrons—many of them regulars—for years. Sure, it has all the menu staples you’d expect at a good full-service diner: non-stop hot coffee from attentive (but not hovering) waitstaff; hearty breakfasts served all day; big, juicy burgers; and hot and cold sandwiches. But what keeps Mont Olympos busy from 7 am until 1 am seven days a week is its delicious, restaurant-quality entrées, including a large selection of broiled and fried seafood, tasty chicken dishes, Greek and Italian specialties, and soups (the matzoball is especially delicious!) so big and brimming you can eat them as a meal. Then there are the three spacious dining rooms, the cozy lighting, the lightning-fast service, the friendly welcomes, the ample parking lot—oh yeah, and the desserts. The sweet and creamy rice pudding, the huge hamentashen, the strudels, the cakes…be right back!
