The Best Perfumes for Summer

Smell is the most evocative of the senses, conjuring up all sorts of memories. Here, our five scents’ worth:

Hanae Mori Parfums No. 6 is a floral Oriental with top notes of tangerine, neroli, and bergamot. The crystal cap encapsulates tiny golden butterfly wings, making it not only delightful to spritz on your skin, but to keep on your vanity, too. Available in June; $95 for 3.4 oz at Bloomingdale’s.

L’Occitane Eaux de Cologne is a new collection of fresh, clean scents that can be splashed all over as a light body fragrance or used to freshen the air at home. Choose from Eau Ravissante, a floral; Eau Universelle, a citrus; and Eau Captivante, an aromatic. Available in June; $27 for 1.7 fl oz or $47 for 10.1 fl oz at L’Occitane at The Westchester.

United Scents of America fragrances, the brainchild of Sasha Bertran and ex-Yorktown Heights resident Samantha Sherwin, include fragrances evocative of—and named—New York and other states of mind. $58 for 1.7 fl oz, at Via Michelle in Mount Kisco.

Beyoncé Pulse Summer Edition is a lighter take on the  Pulse Eau de Parfum and contains a blend of fruity and floral notes, perfect for warmer weather. We love the cool bottle, too. $59 for 3.4 oz at Macy’s.

Hermès Eau de Gentiane Blanche from the label’s unisex collection has a muted freshness and sweet musky nuances, reminiscent, perhaps, of a favorite garden. $125 for 3.3 oz at Richards in Greenwich, Connecticut, or at hermes.com.
