Women of color, rejoice: Janine Resilard (janineresilard.com), a makeup artist and licensed clinical aesthetician who specializes in the skincare needs of darker-skinned women, has opened up shop at Dermacare in White Plains. “There are a number of conditions that primarily affect pigmented skin, such as hyperpigmenta- tion, scarring, and melasma,” she says. “Just a few years ago, laser hair removal was not effective for pigmented skin. Now, there are better, more effective lasers available that can treat all skin types so that nobody should be turned away.”
