Smokehouse Tailgate Grill Launches Happy Hour in New Rochelle

Fried, smoked, and sudsy are all our favorite characteristics of a happy hour.

Peppered across the county, the empire of Smokehouse Tailgate Grill has a longstanding calling card of tender meats, mouthwatering dry rub, and drinks that are well-balanced while being on the heavy-handed side. When you’re in someone’s calendar under, “Order for Pastrami Wednesday,” something must be coming up roses (or maybe woodchips?).

The latest program to the restaurant’s repertoire will be based out of the New Rochelle location, a new iteration of happy hour the team is touting as “Taps & Apps.” Taking place in the restaurant’s Tailgate Room, a semi-private event space next to the main “tap room” and separated by a half wall and glass garage doors, parties will be able to maintain their privacy without missing out on the “Cheers-esque” atmosphere the restaurant exudes. As for the edible portion of tonight’s programming, Smokehouse’s offer is tantalizing: unlimited appetizers (including but not limited to the likes of the famous buffalo dip, fried little thighs, and blistered shishitos) and nonstop brews (think 11 beers on tap, select favorite cocktails, and some bro beers for those of us who never left the dorm room) for 10 to 50 of your closest friends.

With a price point of $45 per person for a 90-minute, all-out food fest, it becomes an uphill battle not to have everything from a corporate get-together to a surprise party to just a monthly shindig with your friends (and depending on the company you keep, $45 is about 20 minutes at the bar). Available upon request are additional packages to really go all-in, such as family-style dinners, carving stations, table side brisket, a mocktail bar, and more.

Impossible not to wander over to, the room also sports Smokehouse’s latest exciting collaboration — a gelato cart from the nationally acclaimed Gelato Festival, home of the most prestigious gelato tournament in the world. Included in your package or otherwise, you’d be remiss not to grab a scoop to-go or sample the luxurious confections on top of desserts, such as the warm skillet chocolate chip cookie — trust us on this one. (Writer’s Note: we do not condone operating heavy machinery while eating an ice cream cone).
