Westchester County’s Median Household Income More than Double National Scale

Same goes for the average household income as well, proving our pockets are deeper than most.

Show Me The Money
Oh boy, are our pockets deeper than those of our fellow countrymen. Our median household income is more than 50 percent higher than the rest of the nation’s—$77,415 per year, walloping the $50,046 competition. And our mean household income is nearly twice the country’s: $124,645, as compared to $68,259. The difference between our mean (i.e., average) income and median income (i.e., the figure in the exact middle) also means that we have a large number of people with very high incomes. Indeed, 14.9 percent of households make more than $200,000 per year here, which is a lot higher than the 3.9 percent of households who bring that in the rest of the country.

The cast as a whole may yet find their stride, but a strong performance by Tevye’s household make for an inspired rendition of the classic production.
