Himmel Award & Lecture: Maya Lin

Chappaqua Crossing (former Reader’s Digest Building)

Approximately 250 guests filled the Chappaqua Crossing auditorium for the Katonah Museum of Art’s Annual Himmel Award and Lecture. Maya Lin, the internationally recognized artist whose career bridges the fields of art, architecture, and the monument, was honored.

The evening began with cocktails in the lobby, followed by a lecture by Lin, in which she described the evolution of her work.

The Himmel Award—named in honor of Betty Himmel, who was instrumental in defining the direction and mission of the Katonah Museum of Art—recognizes those who have demonstrated an ability to provoke new thinking in the arts.
