Classically trained dancer Ellen Crawford of Pound Ridge has always been interested in fashion. Crawford designed costumes for her company as well as for other dancers during a 10-year stint dancing in the Netherlands. Back in the states, she turned her attention to accessories. “I love accessories because they can make the whole outfit,” she says. Crawford launched Ellen Crawford Designs, her jewelry collection, in 2003.
Her highly detailed work sports 18-karat gold, sterling silver, and silks with classic gemstones. Many incorporate freshwater and Tahitian pearls in shades of white, slate, champagne, and pink. “Pearls will never go away,” she says. “They are beautiful, timeless treasures for any age group and any season.”
Designs range from $300 to $2,500, and include bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. Offered at Gems in Katonah, ICD in Chappaqua, and by private appointment; custom designs are welcome. For more info, contact ellen@ellencrawforddesigns.com.
