Behind one of the most tragic deaths in the history of country music lies one of its most enduring friendships. The play Always… Patsy Cline, onstage at the Westchester Broadway Theatre in Elmsford, tells the true story of the country-music legend’s lengthy friendship with her fan Louise Seger. Over the course of the fun-loving and touching production, Seger and Cline share tales of love and loss that brought together two very different women. The hit musical, created by Ted Swindley and directed and staged by Amiee Turner, features some of Cline’s biggest hits, including “Crazy,” “Sweet Dreams,” and “Walkin’ After Midnight.” Cline, who died in a plane crash at age 30, is brought to vivid life by actor Erin McCracken in this play that weaves laughter and loss into one incredible production.

Few groups have pushed alternative music into the 21st century quite like Wilco. With more than 15 years spent almost continuously on the road, the band’s signature fusion of rock, folk, country, and low-fi sound has earned them a large and eminently devoted fanbase. This month, the alt darlings will take the stage at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester for two nights of boundary-pushing music. Having released nine studio albums—including 2005’s A Ghost Is Born, which won a Grammy—the band has collaborated with some of rock’s biggest names and is credited with breathing new life into the alt-country genre. Touring on their new record, Star Wars, Wilco will show off their new, grittier sound along with some of the hits that made them true musical pioneers.
