The Best Breakfast Buffets in the County

Westchester’s two best are in Tarrytown and Rye Brook.

Equus Restaurant, Tarrytown
If the breathtaking views from the Castle aren’t enough to make you an early riser, the buffet of local good-morning goodies Equus offers just may do it. Think farm-fresh eggs, house-smoked salmon, and Hudson Valley yogurt served with seasonal berries. If you happen to visit when the Castle’s low on overnight guests (generally Tuesday through Thursday), you’ll have to order off the à la carte menu, but don’t worry—the ricotta griddle cakes with blackberries, Meyer lemon, and maple syrup won’t leave you feeling like you missed anything. $25
Breakfast is served: Monday-Saturday, 8 am to 10 am
Castle Hotel & Spa 400 Benedict Ave, Tarrytown (914) 631-3646; castlehotelandspa.com

Härth Restaurant, Rye Brook
You don’t have to stay at the Hilton to reap the benefits of its breakfast bar ($19.75). Although the buffet is filled to the brim with seasonal fruits, cereals, and pastries, you won’t want to miss the station where eggs are cooked to order—whether you like them over easy or in an omelet. Prefer just a coffee and a muffin? For three dollars less, you can hit this bar continental-style.
Breakfast is served: Monday-Friday, 6:30 to 11 am; Saturday 6:30 am to noon; Sunday 6:30 am to 1 pm
Hilton Westchester 699 Westchester Ave, Rye Brook (914) 939-6300; hilton.com
