Mad for Hatters
ArtsWestchester’s hat-exploring HAT-titude exhibit.
From Aretha Franklin’s bedazzled inauguration number to the big-bowed creation Princess Beatrice wore to the royal wedding, hats are still making bold fashion statements. ArtsWestchester explores their artistry and function in its new exhibition, HAT-titude: The Milliner in Fashion & Culture, on view from February 11 to April 12. There, see fanciful head coverings made with nontraditional materials or big embellishments, vintage and ethnic styles, and Milliners Guild members’ different takes on the same basic hat shape.
